About

Hello, I am Katya!

I am a portrait and lifestyle photographer based in Menlo Park, California. I love photographing people and the many unique ways each one of us shows up in the world.

My work blends classic posed portraits with those in-between “lifestyle” moments—the unscripted, genuine interactions where emotions and connections shine brightest. I enjoy collaborating with clients to bring their creative vision to life, whether it’s for personal or brand portraits, keepsake family photos, or lifestyle editorial story telling

It’s my goal is to make the photoshoot experience as straight forward and enjoyable as possible—helping you feel supported and informed every step of the way.

My love for photography began when I got my first camera at 11 years old. I had just moved from Russia (then the Soviet Union) to the United States, and everything around me felt new and fascinating. I would spend hours wandering with my camera, capturing anything that caught my eye. This early interest eventually led me to study art and design, pursue a career in design and construction (with a detour to get an MBA during the real estate market crash of 2008), and ultimately return to photography as my profession. After my husband and I welcomed our three kids, I developed a special love for family and lifestyle photography in particular.

When I’m not behind the camera, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, getting creatively inspired and being outdoors. I also love getting in a challenging workout, always with my favorite music to keep me motivated.
