About
Hello, I am Katya!
I am a portrait and lifestyle photographer based in Menlo Park, California. I love photographing people and the many unique ways each of us shows up in the world.
My work blends classic portraits with those in-between “lifestyle” moments—unscripted, genuine interactions where emotions and connections shine brightest. I enjoy collaborating with clients to bring their creative vision to life, whether it’s for personal or brand portraits, keepsake family photos, or the holiday cards that get sent out to friends and family.
Being in front of the camera can feel awkward, and it’s my goal is to make the photoshoot experience as relaxed and enjoyable as possible—helping you feel comfortable and confident every step of the way.
A little about me… My love for photography began when I got my first camera at 11 years old. I had just moved from Russia (then the Soviet Union) to the United States, and everything around me felt new and fascinating. I would spend hours wandering with my camera, capturing anything that caught my eye.
That passion eventually led me to study art and photography, pursue a career in design (with a detour to get an MBA), and ultimately return to photography as my profession. After my husband and I welcomed our three kids, I developed a special love for family and lifestyle photography in particular.
When I’m not behind the camera, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, eating delicious food, and being outdoors. I also love getting in a challenging workout, always with my favorite music playing to keep me motivated.
